QuantumLight Labs needed high-quality product renders for their Kickstarter campaign featuring their innovative smart lighting system.
Deliverables

- 60-second product animation showcasing key features
- Interactive 360° viewer assets for the campaign page
Technical Approach
Modeling
Created detailed 3D models in Blender, paying careful attention to edge bevels and surface imperfections that make renders feel realistic.
Materials
Used Substance Painter for PBR texturing. The aluminum housing required careful attention to anisotropic reflections and subtle scratches.
Lighting
Set up an HDRI-based lighting environment with additional area lights for product photography-style lighting. Each render was individually lit to highlight specific features.
Animation
The product animation was rendered in Cycles with motion blur and depth of field for a cinematic feel. After Effects was used for final compositing and color grading.
Impact
The campaign raised $250,000, exceeding its goal by 500%. The visuals were cited by backers as a key factor in their decision to support the project.
